I’ve always had a passion for cars and an equal passion for how things work. Much to my parents dismay, this led me to dismantle everything from toys, their record player and my first Honda mini bike. Fortunately, I also had a knack for putting things back together again.
Growing up in Central Oregon, I was surrounded by entrepreneurs in my own family and my community. After graduating Arizona State University, I returned to Central Oregon and became involved with a heavy equipment company in Prineville who was serviced by Marshalls Automotive. I was given an opportunity to purchase Marshalls Automotive when the owner began planning for retirement and decided to take the leap.
On a daily basis, I am able to contribute skills and leadership that help residents and businesses of Central Oregon stay safe on the road by performing standard maintenance such as oil changes, new filters, belts, alignments and tuneups along with Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspections and managing the inevitable unplanned repairs.
As I’ve gotten to know our customers, their vehicles and driving habits, I can lead our team to appropriately manage vehicle maintenance and, when unplanned repairs happen, to create a plan for the repairs complete with transparent pricing.
I am very proud of the reputation my team and I have built in Central Oregon, the thousands of customers we have served and the vehicles we have repaired to support our mission of increasing vehicle function and safety for drivers, families, and businesses in the High Desert.

Years Established
Cumulative Years Of Experience
Tom
Master Automotive Technician • 40 years
ASE Master Certified
Mechanical ability came easily to me when I was young which was recognized and encouraged early on.
I have been able to use those skills and abilities to effectively identify and resolve complex repairs on a wide variety of vehicles during my career. At one point, I also repaired boats and RVs which gave me new skills and additional mechanical experience. I strongly believe in continuing education so I expand my industry knowledge with ongoing master level classes throughout each year.
Ultimately, it’s my job to understand every aspect of the vehicle’s design and function in order to rapidly find and correct mechanical issues. I want for my customers the same things that I want for my own family; a well-maintained, properly run vehicle to travel from one place to another and back home safely. That is one of the many reasons I’ve chosen automotive repair as a lifelong career.

Master Automotive Technician • 45 years
ASE Master Certified
Since entering the automotive repair industry as a young adult, I’ve had the opportunity to work on every type of car from most manufacturers. As vehichles have evolved, so have repair techniques. I maintain my certifications with ongoing training and workshops.
I approach each vehicle that comes in with a complex repair issue as a problem to be solved logically and systematically, eliminating the most obvious issues first in order to rapidly identify faulty parts and poor function. My goal is to provide a solution to the customer as quickly as possible to reduce the amount of time their vehicle is out of commission.
In Central Oregon, our vehicles are subjected to extreme conditions that can take a toll on even the best maintained vehicle so preventative maintenance is even more important.
I treat my customers the same way I want my family and friends to be treated; with courtesy, respect and professionalism.

My family and I have been deeply connected to Central Oregon for several generations. I bring a strong work ethic to the team with an ability to completely focus on the task at hand until it’s done. One of my specialties is Pre-Purchase Inspections for used vehicles which provides my customers a report of a vehicle’s overall condition and system function.
Cars represent a major purchase for most people. I believe our customers deserve objective information from their trusted mechanic in order to make a good car buying decision for the long term.
After our Pre-Inspection Report customers choose a vehicle, maintaining that vehicle properly over the life of the vehicle, by a trusted mechanic becomes very important.
I’m grateful for this industry that allows me to use my skills and abilities to help people in my community, provide for my family and reach my personal and professional goals.

I grew up working on cars. I enjoy this profession so much that I volunteered for many years to repair race vehicles at the Oregon Raceway Park in Grass Valley, Oregon. This provided me valuable experience and a unique perspective when repairing and servicing passenger and commercial fleet vehicles.
Like passenger vehicles, race vehicles prioritize safety features and proper function over all else. I use that unique experience to ask several questions when I am diagnosing vehicle issues.
Once I determine the source of the problem, I want to determine if the extent of the repair returns the vehicle to its optimal function and safety. I also consider several approaches to identify the best way to approach the repair so I can return the vehicle to the customer in the most optimal time frame.
Repairing vehicles with quality parts in a timely manner is one of the most important aspects of being a trusted automotive technician and one that I take very seriously.
